Shredall return from NAID 2012

Shredall Ltd recently returned from the annual NAID National Association for Information Destruction Conference in Anaheim, USA.
"The NAID Conference is always such an invaluable couple of days, Shredall take away so much knowledge and we are already looking forward to attending next year. We have come back to our headquarters enthusiastic, excited and fired up. With new, impressive information to be passed on we look forward to continuing to provide an excellent service to our customers.”
Lloyd Williams
www.shredall.co.ukA massive highlight for Shredall was the featured key note speakers – Jeffrey Gitomer and Tom Adams.  Gitomer is the author of American best sellers The Sales Bible, The Little Red Book of Selling, The Little Black Book of Connections and The Little Gold Book of YES! Attitude. A creative, on-the-edge, writer and speaker whose expertise on sales, customer loyalty, and personal development is world renowned. Tom Adams is the records and information management marketing specialist who addressed the topic of business marketing.
In an effort to be industry leaders and constant pioneers Shredall absorb global information specific to their industry, Lloyd comments "with Shredall being the only UK nationwide shredding provider to be NAID AAA certified it is important that we stay ahead of the game. Everything Shredall learn, we bring back to England and try out hardest to put in place within the company".
Gitomer reminded attendees at the conference who felt that shredding services have been commoditised, ‘You are in the value business, not in the price business’. He also suggested that destruction companies needed to provide value beyond the collection of documents to retain customers. What happens after the sale takes place is the measurable value, necessitating quality service. Shredall emphasise the importance of the security of customer’s documents.
Gitomer suggested that attendees replace cold calls with social media, saying it presents a ‘huge opportunity’ to attract, engage and connect with customers and prospects. He advised that attendees become comfortable with Twitter and remember that value should be the principle guiding their posts. Why not follow Shredall and SDS on Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn.
Marketing and PR Manager for Shredall and SDS, Charlotte Bovey, was particularly engaged with key note speaker Tom Adams who is the author of ‘You Are the Logo.’
“Amongst many interesting statements Tom spoke about, a topic that stuck out for me is that business owners tie their personal names into the marketing of their businesses” ‘Become more visible as the face of your business’ Tom suggested, ‘become the expert’- this is exactly what Shredall are doing and will continue to do so with our sister company SDS (Shredall Data Storage).”

He suggested that ‘now was the time’ for destruction company owners to become visible, saying that small business owners are viewed favourably by the public and that people are craving a personal connection.

NAID CEO Bob Johnson comments “It was great to see the management team of Shredall Ltd. attending the NAID 2012 Conference in Anaheim, CA, USA, last week. Shredall's customers are very lucky to have a service provider that takes its data protection responsibilities so seriously. Your attendance at NAID 2012 says a lot about your firm's dedication to staying on top of data protection issues and technology.”

Nik Williams comments “NAID and the NAID Conference is such a vital part of ensuring that the data destruction industry adheres to a strict code of ethics and employs processes that ensure that client data is destroyed in an effective manner.  Nothing is more important to a company than its data, and NAID’s mission is to make sure that those of us in the industry responsible for destroying that data are doing so in a manner that is consistent and effective.” Nik continues “not only do we learn a substantial amount; we are networking with contacts around the globe.”
